Sun.Nov.03.2013. Timechange again! Arg! When will this be phased out?

Image
So we jump straight from my first ever footpic to my latest one. There’s a big block of time in there, but after a lovely little motivational chat with one of the only bloggers I follow, I decided to follow her advice and leave my chronological OCD behind! Thanks Carolyn! (I’ll figure out how to link you on this later)

Timechanges are one of my personal pet peeves! Is the supposed benefit really worth the hassle and confusion…and possible car accidents? I am in the Hell No camp…even though I think I get to sleep in an hour longer at this end of it. That doesn’t make up for it to me. Saskatchewan has the way if it. No messing with the clocks!

Also featured….new backyard brickwork! The landlords didn’t put in the mini garden plots under the windows that I’d been advocating, but they do have to think long term. Not every tenant will be hoping to plant a pretty potager herb garden. Still, it was loads of fun watching all the steps of construction with my girls!

It’s not one of my most inspired shots, but it seemed… timely.
Har har har!

Thurs.June.23.2011. Went clover gazing in Winnipeg

Image
This was my first official footpic, though I didn’t realize it had become a “thing” until halfway through the trip. Usually I’d have passed off my camera asking someone else to take over photographer duties so that I too could be in a couple shots. That wasn’t much of an option on this trip. And the footpic was born! (for me at least =p )

This shot in particular was a good spot in a hard day. I’m a clover gazer, always trying ot find another 4 leaf clover to add to my collection while weeding! Without applying a lot of what footpics have come to mean to me, I just wanted to remember it. To that end, it’s worked out nicely. I’ve kept at it for over a year now, taking footpics Nearly everyday.

Each one tells a story about that day but it also says a simple I Am Here! I am noticing the good things around me and if none find me I am damn well making them on my own! It’s been a really motivating focus in my life. Even in hard times there are still roses to stop and smell…and stand near.

Finally found a name I can get behind!

Someone made a comment in one of my facebook footpic albums that unintentionally sounded like the best name ever to me!

“You could be starting a world-wide trend – better jump on board with “both” feet!”
-KJuergen There
And there it is…With Both Feet!
It seems to encapsulate a lot of what I’m going for. There’s the required foot reference but it also implies jumping in! Getting out and doing things! There’s a generally positive and fun sentiment behind that idiom, but there is also an element of work to it. And the synonyms are great! (Who doesnt love a good synonym)
…bite the bullet, choose one’s fate, leap into the breach, leave a crossroads, make one’s move, take the bull by the horns, take the plunge. DO IT! Anyway I like it. I can work with this. Time to jump in…with both feet.

What’s in a name…

My daily(ish) footpics are wanting to take over my unused blog. I’ve posted them on my Facebook page long enough and I enjoy taking them enough that this might be something I stick with! =O
What to name the blog!?! A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…and I suppose the same goes for toes. But naming things in a way that encapsulates several things about it as well as gives the intended tone is useful and just plain fun!

Aloha world!

I don’t know if I’ll ever really blog here, but I thought at the very least I ought to claim my net name here too. I’ve got lots of stuff I want to write about…well I do while I’m in the shower at least. By the time I get out I’ve got more demanding things to do, entire to-to lists worth really. And write something in my blog got added to a list so now I get to cross it off! Excellent!
One less thing to do =)
